Frequently asked questions

If you don’t see your question here, include it when you request a quote and we’ll answer it directly.

How does the audiobook production process work?

Our production process follows these steps:

1. Consultation - We discuss your book, vision, and timeline

2. Narrator Selection - You audition and select from our voice talent roster

3. Recording - Your narrator records the full manuscript in our professional studio

4. Editing & Proofing - We remove errors, mouth clicks, breaths, and background noise

5. Quality Review - You receive the audio for review and provide feedback

6. Mastering - We optimize levels and ensure retail platform compliance

7. Delivery - You receive final files ready for distribution

Do I have to narrate my own book?

No. Many clients choose a professional narrator to save time and ensure a consistent performance. Others prefer to narrate themselves to keep their personal voice and authority. We support both paths: we can cast and direct a narrator for you, or coach you through author narration so you sound polished and natural.

How long does it take to produce an audiobook?

Typical timelines:

| Book Length | Production Time |

|-------------|-----------------|

| Under 30,000 words | 3-4 weeks |

| 30,000-60,000 words | 4-6 weeks |

| 60,000-100,000 words | 6-8 weeks |

| Over 100,000 words | 8-12 weeks |

Rush services are available for an additional fee. Timeline begins once narrator is confirmed and full manuscript is received.

Do you offer multi-narrator or full-cast productions?

Yes! We offer several formats:

- Single narrator (most common, one voice performs all characters)

- Dual narration (two narrators, often for romance with alternating POV)

- Full cast (multiple voice actors for different characters)

- Dramatized audio (full cast plus sound effects and music)

Multi-voice productions require additional coordination and increase costs accordingly.

How much does audiobook production cost?

Pricing is based on finished hour of audio. Industry rates typically range:

| Service Level | Per Finished Hour |

|---------------|-------------------|

| Budget/Newer Narrator | $150-250 |

| Professional Standard | $250-400 |

| Premium/Experienced Narrator | $400-600+ |

| Celebrity/Specialized | Custom quote |

A 60,000-word book typically produces 6-7 finished hours of audio.
